Where We Work

Source of Hope supports two schools in rural communities southwest of Guatemala City.

The map shows the general region only. To protect the children we serve, we don’t publish exact school locations.

Remote Location

Located deep in the coastal department of Escuintla, reaching this community requires traveling 8 km on a rugged dirt road and fording four rivers without bridges.

Rural Livelihood

Families there survive by harvesting coffee, sugarcane, and other crops.

Children in Need

Children often lack consistent access to education, nutrition, and healthcare.

Opened in 2010 in the hilly farmland of Sacatepéquez, our program began by offering distance learning and daily meals to a small group of children from underprivileged families.

Dozens of families have seen new opportunities thanks to the program, and the school’s educational and spiritual support has strengthened the local community.

Hands of Mercy

As part of our commitment to serving communities, this program provides food packages, basic home construction, and improved stoves, helping to enhance the living conditions of the families we serve.
