Sonía Carías
I’m Sonia Carías, I’m 28 years old, and today I teach at the Fuente de Esperanza School. When I was seven, I went to church with my sister and longed to learn to read, even though we had no money for schooling. Then a pastor told us: “Pray, and God will open doors,” and everything changed a year later.

I joined a project that gave children like me access to school. There I learned with joy, grew in Christian values, and discovered my passion for teaching.
Thanks to that opportunity, I received scholarships for high school in Computer Science and later for university. Now, five years later, I’ve returned to that very same school—Fuente de Esperanza—not as a student, but as a teacher, giving what was once given to me.
